Solve for x: 2$x^2$ - 11 $x$ - 21 = 0

# Solve the equation?

It looks like to me a quadratic equation: `2*x^2 -11x -21 = 0`

There are two ways to solve it

1: `2*x^2 -11x -21 = 0`

`=> 2*x^2 - 14x + 3x - 21 = 0`

`=> 2x(x-7)+3(x-7) = 0`

`=> (x-7)(2x+3 )= 0`

so either `x-7 = 0 => x=7`

or `2x+3=0 => x=-3/2`

`ax^2 + bx + c = 0`

is

a = 2, b = -11, c = -21

So either x = (11+17)/4 => x=28/4 => x=7

or x=(11-17)/4 => x=-6/4 => x=-3/2
