What is the difference between ipv4 & ipv6?
Ipv4 is 32 bit address while ipv6 is 128 bit address and both are in network layer!
Ipv4 is the fourth version of internet protocol
Ipv6 is the 6th version for the same
Ipv4 has 32 bit address.
Ipv6 has 128 bit address.
Ipv4 is compatible. Ipv6 is comparitively less compatible as it is converted to Ipv4 before searching for the respective IP address.
Both lie in network layer.
Header size is 32 bits.
It cannot support autoconfiguration.
Cannot support real time application.
No security at network layer.
Throughput and delay is more.
